I have been making cake since I was eleven, dare I say long before it was fashionable. These recipes come from one my mum developed many years ago, which I’ve tweaked and adapted. Together we made many a fairy cake, topped with white icing and a red glacé cherry.
My colleagues have acted as willing guinea pigs for the research and development of my cakes for this blog although they have also leveled accusations of me trying to fatten them up. It would be remiss of me not to also mention my husband and his commitment to the quality assurance of the cakes produced in our kitchen.
